I started with Mulan simply because a Facebook fan got there first with the suggestion. I used her Matchmaker's costume for inspiration to create a layered look, with a sparkly mint chiffon blouse (which I now wish existed) and a pink and purple jumper. I was going to have her with a red skirt to continue the theme but then remembered she spends most of the movie pretending to be a man, so I gave her boyish jeans to make the outfit a little more casual. It's the sort of thing you'd throw together for lectures rather than wear to the office.
As the tablet is my area of specialism and photomanipulated characters have been done before, these won't look entirely realistic (they are illustrations after all) but my aim is to construct them using real facial dimensions whilst still retaining a cartoon-like element to them. The background is a number of different textures and layers which will reflect each character.
This will be a long term project, so don't hesitate to contact me if there's someone you'd like to see featured as a modern Disney character!
